WordPress block theme generator
All structure. No styling.
Airframe is a bare WordPress block theme for fully custom builds. Name it, download it, and build your design straight into theme.json, patterns and templates, with nothing to undo first.
What's inside
Nothing to undo
Most themes arrive styled, and custom builds spend their time overriding them. Airframe adds nothing, so every rule on the site is one you wrote.
-
Fully bare
No theme styling and no optional core block styles. One small fix lets full-width sections sit flush against each other.
-
The essentials
A base
theme.json, index, singular and 404 templates, and header and footer parts. Comments are off, and WordPress.org updates can't overwrite it. -
Examples to learn from
A pattern, section styles, button styles and a dark variation that show how each feature works. Delete what you don't need.
-
Docs for people and AI agents
A README in every folder on how WordPress reads it, plus an
AGENTS.mdwith rules that keep the theme bare.
How it works
Three steps to a build
-
Name it
Enter a theme name and slug above. The zip comes back renamed throughout, with your author details in the theme header.
-
Install it
In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme, then install and activate.
-
Build on it
Put the design into
theme.json, patterns and templates. There are no theme defaults to fight.
Download from the command line
curl -fLo my-theme.zip "/api/generate?name=My+Theme&slug=my-theme"
Leave out slug to derive it from the name. Add author and authorUri if you like.
